The purpose of Finance OS is to help individuals manage and understand their personal finances. Finance OS is a personal finance management platform that helps users track accounts, loans, assets, liabilities, net worth, financial goals, and financial statements in one place.
Finance OS lets you manage bank accounts, credit cards, loans, investments, insurance, physical assets, and tax information; view net worth and cash flow; set financial goals; and review monthly financial summaries. The app is designed for monthly check-ins rather than daily expense tracking. Finance OS is not a bank, broker, or tax filing service.
Finance OS helps you track:
Features include a financial health dashboard, timeline, cash-flow forecast, FIRE planner, decision simulator, and monthly story summary. Manual data entry is supported for all features.
Google Sign-In (required): Finance OS uses Google Sign-In for authentication. We receive your Google account email, display name, and profile picture to create and identify your Finance OS account. We do not post on your behalf or access Google Drive, Calendar, or contacts through sign-in.
Gmail (optional): If you choose to enable Gmail integration, Finance OS may access financial emails that you authorize — such as bank, loan, credit card, or investment statement emails — to help import and organize your financial information. Gmail access is read-only, optional, used only while you actively use an import feature, and can be disconnected at any time. Gmail is not required to use Finance OS.
Financial data you provide: Account balances, transactions, and other records you enter or import are stored in this application's database to power dashboards and reports.
AI parsing (optional, off by default): If enabled, transaction-line text may be sent to OpenAI when local statement parsing fails. See our Privacy Policy for details.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
